At Texas State Optical Texas City, our mission is to care for you and your eyes! Our Doctors of Optometry, Dr. Nelson Juarez and Dr. Mercy Garcia, and their dedicated staff provide expert eye care service to Texas City and all of its surrounding cities. Building relationships through unparalleled customer service and offering the best technological equipment available to care for each patient’s eye health is our upmost priority. Texas State Optical Texas City offers convenient and flexible hours of Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. that aim to accommodate most schedules. We also now offer new Saturday hours from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Meet Dr. Nelson Juarez
Dr. Nelson Juarez, not only practices family eye care in Texas City, but also makes his home in the community. A native of Galveston, Dr. Juarez graduated from Galveston Ball High School. He studied at the University of Houston where he earned a degree in biology in 1999 and went on to graduate from the University of Houston College of Optometry with a Doctor of Optometry degree in 2003.

Meet Dr. Mercy F. Garcia
Dr. Mercy F. Garcia was born and raised in Fort Myers, FL. She graduated cum laude from the University of Florida in 2012 with a bachelor of science in psychology. After graduation, she moved to Texas where she earned a Doctorate in Optometry from the University of Houston, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2016. Dr. Garcia completed externship training at the Raymond G Murphy Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM.

Meet Dr. Noah Zavala
Dr. Noah Zavala was born and raised in Texas City and is exhilarated to be back to serve his community. A passionate clinician, Dr. Zavala is dedicated to providing high-quality patient care. Dr. Noah Zavala is a board-certified Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma specialist. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association.
